Launch of the “Engineering Portal”: gateway to engineering education and research

Hokkaido University’s Faculty, Graduate School and School of Engineering have launched “Engineering Portal,” a united bilingual gateway to engineering education and research for domestic and global audiences.

Developed around the concept “Connecting with smiles,” the portal introduces a fresh, modern visual identity that emphasizes the contribution of engineering to society and our commitment to diversity and inclusion in engineering research and education.

The site was designed to improve navigation for visitors while making it easier for members of our community to share the work taking place across different Engineering units. Its new structure includes sections for students, researchers and general audiences, along with new categories such as Research Highlights and Student Voices. Events can be categorized by their intended audience, while news can be easily filtered to find relevant information. By bringing together information previously divided between separate websites and spread across multiple sections, the portal aims to provide a smoother and more intuitive user experience.

■ Changes to publication of notices, events and awards

From October 1, 2026, information previously published on the School of Engineering and the Faculty and Graduate School of Engineering websites will be published on Engineering Portal.

Please note that the following existing websites will continue to operate, providing detailed information specific to each organization:
